MEDIGREEN supports III 2025 MED-MSP-CoP Workshop

0

Online– 7 October 2025

The MED-MSP Community of Practice (MED-MSP-CoP) successfully held its latest workshop on October 7, 2025, gathering experts and practitioners from across the Mediterranean to share knowledge and perspectives on the integration of key maritime sectors into Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP).

The event, held online, focused on identifying and discussing relevant sources of knowledge—from case studies and pilot projects to formal planning processes—on four topics: Aquaculture, Offshore Renewable Energy, Fisheries, and Nature Protection.

The workshop was actively supported by the MEDIGREEN project, which contributed with the expertise of several of its partners and researchers. Their participation enriched the discussion with insights drawn from ongoing activities, technical analyses, and regional experiences across the Mediterranean basin.

A hallmark of the session was its interactive format, based on dedicated Miro boards for each thematic session. This approach encouraged participants to collaboratively map and discuss key examples, fostering a fruitful exchange of knowledge and practices between national authorities, research institutions, and regional initiatives.

The high level of engagement demonstrated the strong commitment of the Mediterranean MSP community to advancing sustainable, ecosystem-based planning and enhancing cross-border cooperation in marine management.

A warm thank you to all participants and contributors—especially those from MEDIGREEN—for making this workshop a vibrant and collaborative step forward for the MED-MSP-CoP network.

A full report will be available at the end of the month.
