Join MEDIGREEN at the Mediterranean Coast and Macro-Regional Strategies Week 2026
17 September 2026 | 14:45–16:00
How can Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) accelerate the sustainability transition in the Mediterranean? Join the MEDIGREEN side event at the Mediterranean Coast and Macro-Regional Strategies Week 2026 to explore the latest developments, exchange experiences with regional experts, and discover opportunities for collaboration across the Adriatic-Ionian region.
The session, “MSP in the Mediterranean and its role in the sustainability transition: the MEDIGREEN project and the Mediterranean MSP Community of Practice (MED-MSP-CoP)”, will present the first findings of the MEDIGREEN project on how Maritime Spatial Planning is contributing to the implementation of the European Green Deal across key maritime sectors, including fisheries, aquaculture, offshore renewable energy and nature protection. Particular attention will be given to the relevance of these results for the Adriatic-Ionian region and the role of MSP in supporting resilient, sustainable marine governance.
Participants will also be introduced to the Mediterranean MSP Community of Practice (MED-MSP-CoP), a growing platform that brings together institutions, practitioners and experts to foster knowledge exchange, capacity building and regional cooperation on MSP. The session will present the Community’s objectives, recent achievements and future activities, while highlighting opportunities for engagement by stakeholders from the EUSAIR region, including non-EU countries.
The event will conclude with an interactive discussion, providing participants with the opportunity to exchange perspectives and contribute to the future development of MSP cooperation in the Mediterranean.
Participation is open upon registration. Secure your place through the official event registration page:
